Even though Basque Country is a small area, during its whole history, this country has shown cultural and especially folk richness.

There are more than three hundred dances and even more than one thousand folk songs, all related to our language, euskera; one of the oldest languages in Europe.

Our geography is composed of many rivers, mountains and valleys. This geographical variety makes Basque Country’s folk actual diverse, making our dances different.

The cultural association Alkartasuna dantza taldea was founded in 1976 in the small village of Bermeo.

Since its foundation till nowadays, its major aim has been to spread the Basque culture, especially its dances and music.

Our group plays folk music with Basque traditional instruments such as Basque flute, accordion… and dancers perform dances related to Basque religious celebrations.

Not only does this cultural association show its dances in the Basque Country, but it has also had the opportunity to expand the Basque culture in many different European and American festivals.

Furthermore, since 1986, this group has been working on the INTERNATIONAL FOLK FESTIVAL, which is held every August and where a lot of groups from the whole world have already taken part. On the assumption that you were interested, you might visit the festival page.
